I grew up in the suburbs of Minneapolis without a creative eye, but a creative ear and voice. I played piano for 10-plus years and percussion (e.g., mallet instruments, drums, other rhythmic accouterments) for about the same length of time and performed in choirs and high school musicals (and not of the Zac Efron variety, thank you very much).
After stumbling my way into a career in government relations in Washington, DC, shortly after college, I began to see the world a bit differently through photography and have tried — however slowly — to hone my skills with the limited resources I’ve been able to understand.
Currently, I shoot with a Canon PowerShot SX40 HS. On the mobile side, it’s an iPhone 6, with help (usually) only from the native photo app.
